A Return to the Frame
Wildlife Portraitures in Oil
After four decades inside the global fashion lens, I am turning my gaze inward—reclaiming the frame through oil painting. Raised by a working visual artist, I grew up immersed in the artistic craft, awareness of composition, and regard for studio practice. Art was never an afterthought; it was an early inheritance.
These contemporary wildlife portraits reflect a lifelong study of presence, light, and form. Years spent in front of the camera sharpened my understanding of how image carries emotion. Now, behind the canvas, I compose that presence myself.
Each animal is depicted with deliberate attention and focus—less illustration, more encounter. These works explore quiet power, instinct, and the unspoken dialogue between viewer and subject.
This body of work marks not a pivot, but a return.
